Yana Kobushko, PhD in Economics and Associate Professor, took part in the initiative.

The three-day event focused on deep self-reflection, re-evaluating personal experiences, and identifying internal resources for leadership amidst change and uncertainty.

✨ Key Takeaways:

🔹 Leadership is a process, a form of influence, and a shared goal. It is not defined by a job title or formal status; rather, it manifests in the ability to bring people together, shape a common vision, and work collectively toward a result.

🔹 Self-identity is the foundation of leadership. To lead others, one must first understand oneself—recognizing one’s own values, strengths, and motivations, as well as the factors that foster resilience during challenging times.

🔹 Acknowledging loss is not a sign of weakness, but a step toward recovery. The experience of displacement transforms us, shifting our priorities and our vision for the future. It is essential to give oneself the space to process these experiences, embrace change, and discover new sources of stability.

🔹 Imposter syndrome does not define our potential. Even highly experienced professionals may grapple with self-doubt; however, such feelings should not hinder the pursuit of new decisions, bold ideas, or professional growth.

🔹 Resilience begins with internal resources. Self-care, awareness of one’s own needs, and the ability to recharge are not optional extras—they are essential components of responsible leadership.

🔹 Leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about a willingness to explore oneself, listen to others, and take responsibility for the changes one wishes to see in the world.

Group work and the exchange of experiences with other participants were particularly valuable. It was inspiring to hear diverse stories and witness the immense strength, determination, and potential of Ukrainian women—who, despite the challenges of displacement, continue to grow, work, and create new opportunities.

This experience also offered a fresh perspective on the role of leadership in managing teams, implementing projects, and developing communities. After all, true change begins with people—with their trust, interaction, and readiness to take action.

💗 My gratitude goes to the #ULEAD, #UkreateHub, and #OpenLithuaniaFoundation teams for providing a space for growth, reflection, and mutual support.
