On the 3rd of August the one-day training took place “Blogging Channel for Advocacy” within the project “Together We Can”, the program for youth. The trainer of the school was Yuriy Kochkarov, well-known blogger, script-writer and film director. The active residents of the city took part in this school, among them there were our students. After the training, the participants were asked to share their impressions on the radio. The guests of the “Ukrainian Radio: Sumy” were Maryna Osiuhina, the coordinator of the project and the participants - Faith Umo Otong (student in “Management”) and Olena Bilotserkivska (student in “International Economic Relations”), both enrolled at Sumy State University. The guests shared their vision of discrimination per se and its forms in our society.

On 17th of June students of Sumy State University joined one of the meetings of the Civic Engagement Club (a social project of NGO “Lifelong Learning Center). At this meeting, our students shared their experience of being enrolled in “The Fair Skills Training” that took place in Chernihiv. This training was devoted to Human Rights Advocacy and during 4 days the participants had intensive sessions on different types of discrimination and processes of radicalization. The training program is a part of Project Together we Can!” managed by NGO “Young Media Association” (MMC) in cooperation with «Сultures Interactive», the Ukrainian Human Rights Foundation and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Federative Republic of Germany.
