General objectives:

  • promoting research and first teaching experience for young researchers and scholars and practitioners in European Union issues, in particular in a sphere of intercultural development;
  • developing tailored courses in a sphere of intercultural development, adjusted to the needs of the target group employed at several selected spheres (academic scholars, policy-makers, social activists, active youth,and media) to boost the interest and awareness at different dimensions of society;
  • evaluating DEID (Diversity, Equity, and Intercultural Dialogue) at the level of campus, as well as providing recommendations on how to transform acknowledgement of cultural diversity to the opportunities of growth at campus, city levels, and beyond.

Specific objectives:

  • to increase the awareness of the participants about the legislation of the EU in a sphere of intercultural education and intercultural development and the leading practices through the conference, debates, teaching & learning activities;
  • to reveal and discuss the educational needs of the target groups and main stakeholders of the project (migrants, IDPs, national minorities, local population, the representatives of media, the academic community, local government, and so on);
  • to popularize the movements towards intercultural values;
  • to improve of the skills of critical thinking, argumentations, public speaking and intercultural intelligence of the participants;
  • to promote EU values such as tolerance and respect for other cultures;
  • to design a pilot version of DEID assessment for the campus and implement it;
  • to develop an approach that identifies the links in a system “campus-city” in terms of intercultural strategy implementation.
