As part of monitoring leading European practices in open science and the integration of research into the public sphere, the organization of science outreach events at the University of Seville (Universidad de Sevilla, Spain)—specifically the annual “European Researchers’ Night” (La Noche Europea de los Investigadores)—was examined.
Olena Mykhailovska, Doctor of Public Administration and Professor at the Oleh Balatskyi Department of Management, attended the event on September 25, 2026.
“European Researchers’ Night” is a pan-European project aimed at bringing science closer to society, demonstrating the practical value of scientific developments in addressing pressing issues, and engaging young people in research activities. The event’s format is based on the concept of open dialogue, featuring interactive workshops, open laboratory demonstrations, and presentations of applied innovations for a broad audience.
The University of Seville is one of Spain’s key and oldest research and educational centers (founded in 1505). The institution educates over 50,000 students and conducts a significant number of research programs under European Union grant initiatives.
Familiarity with such formats of scientific communication is of practical interest for developing university initiatives, optimizing the educational process, and implementing effective tools to engage students in research work.
