For someone, August is the rest and vacation, and for our students and educators, it’s an opportunity to reach unreached and to embrace unembraced. And moreover, the Summer Schools and Conferences, online-marathons and many other interesting things may happen. Be open for the opportunities!
On the 3rd of August the one-day training took place “Blogging Channel for Advocacy” within the project “Together We Can”, the program for youth. The trainer of the school was Yuriy Kochkarov, well-known blogger, script-writer and film director. The active residents of the city took part in this school, among them there were our students. After the training, the participants were asked to share their impressions on the radio. The guests of the “Ukrainian Radio: Sumy” were Maryna Osiuhina, the coordinator of the project and the participants - Faith Umo Otong (student in “Management”) and Olena Bilotserkivska (student in “International Economic Relations”), both enrolled at Sumy State University. The guests shared their vision of discrimination per se and its forms in our society.
We are grateful to Maryna Osiuhina for her coordinating, and furthermore, for her encouraging international students to be involved in the social life of our town and beyond. The podcast “Discrimination of a Human: How to solve it?” (in Ukrainian) you may find here https://bit.ly/3ivbV5u
From the 9th minute, you may hear Faith’s thoughts on discrimination in Africa and Ukraine (in English). The interpreter is Olena Bilotserkivska. The anchor of the radio show is Olexander Baburov. Thank you for the invitation!
