On October 8, 2020, the Department of Management hosted a practice-oriented event, a lecture on “The state of implementation of the Law of Ukraine “On Strategic Environmental Assessment” in Sumy region and problematic issues of integration of environmental requirements during the development and approval of state planning documents” and “Current state and state policy in the field of waste management”. The lecture was given by Iryna Volodymyrivna Kashpur, Acting Director of the Department of Environmental Protection and Energy of the Sumy Regional State Administration. The event was held for students of the 4th year of the specialty “Public Management and Administration” of the educational program “Public Management and Administration” within the discipline “Strategic Management in the Public Sphere” (teacher Bondar T.V.); students of the 1st year in the specialty “Public Management and Administration” of the educational program “Administrative Management” within the discipline “State Control” (teacher Demikhov O.I.); students of the 2nd year in the specialty “Public Health” of the educational program “Public Health” within the discipline “Strategic Management in Health Care” (teacher Demikhov O.I.).

During the event within the topics of the disciplines mentioned above, respectively: “Strategic planning at different levels of public management”, “Environmental control at the regional level”, “Environmental control as a factor in maintaining public health,” the topical and critical issues of strategic environmental assessment in Sumy region as well as the state and prospects of waste management in the area have been discussed.
