More than 140 participants of the Global Virtual Professional Development Program “Excellence in Teaching & Research” gained their certificates. This program is designed for Ph.D. students, researchers, junior lecturers & academics, faculty members, and graduates interested in a teaching or research career and developed jointly with Washington State University, initiated by Sumy State University. This program included nine intense interactive sessions and an independent study of participants for a final report.
The guest speakers of the program are representatives of TOP-ranked Universities, such as Bahcesehir University (Turkey), London School of Economics (UK), Montpellier Business School (France), Purdue University (the US), Sumy State University (Ukraine), University of Nebraska-Lincoln (the US), University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee (the US), Varna University of Management (Bulgaria), Washington State University (the US).
Participants attending the program came from China, Ghana, India, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UK, and Ukraine. They also came with diverse experiences – established scholars from myriad disciplines, university faculty in Business, Marketing, Management, Strategy, Behavioral Economics, and other social sciences, and postgraduate students interested in conducting solid research and those who want to become excellent teachers. Among the participants, there were faculties, Ph.D. students, and students of Sumy State University. We congratulate our colleagues and friends on the completion of academic virtual mobility.
As one of the attendees from UK, Janice Angela Carole Lalu wrote: “… The sessions have given me great insights into research and teaching, making research and teaching become less abstract and out-of-reach. It was a wonderful experience, being able to interact with specialists and gain so much knowledge”.
One of the guest speakers, Professor Erdogan Koç, noted, that “It was an exciting experience to meet researchers and prospective researchers from almost every corner of the world. Seeing the enthusiasm of the more than 200 participants until the very end of the whole two-hour session and hearing their interesting questions was extremely motivating. I would like to thank all who participated, and more importantly to people who made this exciting event possible.”
