Projects that Transform Communities: SumDU Management Students Meet with Head of the Kоноtop City Council Department of Economy, Liudmyla Hapieieva

On September 23, students of the Project Management educational program at Sumy State University had a unique opportunity to take part in a practice-oriented session with Liudmyla Hapieieva, Head of the Department of Economy of the Konotop City Council.

The event was held within the framework of the following courses: Project and Process Management, Program and Portfolio Management, Grant Application Management, Project Team Management

The topic of the meeting was “Project Management at the Level of Territorial Communities: Successful Cases of the Konotop Community.”

Ms. Liudmyla shared not only figures and facts but also real stories: how the community is changing through infrastructure, social, educational, and cultural projects; how international partners and grant funding are being engaged; and what challenges face the teams implementing these initiatives.

For students, this was a valuable opportunity to see how theory translates into practice, how project management tools are applied in communities, and how young people can become involved in this process.

Moreover, Ms. Liudmyla invited students to join the team of the Konotop City Council’s Department of Economy to gain valuable experience and implement their own ideas in real community projects.

The session was also attended by program faculty members: Yuliia Matvieieva, Viktoriia Sulym, Anastasiia Niesheva, and Tetyana Mayboroda.

The event was organized by Anastasiia Zahorodnia, Head of the Investment Activity, Project Management, and Public Project Support Division of the Konotop City Council Department of Economy, together with Yuliia Matvieieva, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Management named after Oleg Balatskyi, SumDU.

We sincerely thank Ms. Liudmyla Hapeyeva for her openness and inspiration! We are confident that such meetings motivate students to search for new ideas, attract resources, and develop their own successful projects.
