Once again, from May 18 to 22, 2026, the academic staff of the Oleg Balatskyi Department of Management at Sumy State University, including the Head of the Department Ihor Rekunenko, Senior Lecturer Yuliia Matvieieva, and Teaching Assistant Anastasiia Niesheva, together with partners from Sweden — Timur Uman and Yuliya Khvatsik — as well as representatives of eight communities of the Sumy region and the Sumy Regional Development Agency, are visiting Chișinău (Republic of Moldova) to participate in the third training module of the international project “Good Governance and Accountability in Public Administration” (GAAP), implemented with the financial support of the Swedish Institute (SI).
The events are being held at the Moldova State University (Universitatea de Stat din Moldova). The project participants were welcomed by partners from the Republic of Moldova — Andrei Mulic and Maria Hamuraru.
On the first day, participants had the opportunity to gain valuable insights and practical experience from Andrei Mulic, who delivered a session on “Project Management (INTERREG Successful Budget),” and Yuliia Matvieieva, who presented “Best Practices of Accountability in Public Administration in Ukraine”.
The GAAP project is implemented as a modular interactive program aimed at civil servants, local government officials, and other key stakeholders involved in public administration processes.
It is expected that the implementation of the project will contribute to enhancing the professional competencies of community representatives and other participants, strengthening international cooperation, and improving governance practices at the local level.
