On October 21st, Tetyana Mayboroda, the lecturer of Oleg Balatskyi Department of Management, and her students presented group project “Conflicts, International Business & International Leadership” in the frame of COIL module with Professor Dipra Jha, Washington State University. Together with her 3 students Maryna Medvedieva (Ukraine), Faith Emmanuel (Nigeria), Agyemang Adusei (Ghana) was held an informative session on countries' outstanding conflict analyses in Ukraine, Ghana & Nigeria, their peculiarities & causes, their impact on economy & international business, and also special attention was paid to leadership aspect in the conflicts. “Orange Revolution in Ukraine”, “Chieftaincy Conflicts in Ghana” & “Police Brutality in Nigeria” – all this is about society in XXI century. The presentation aroused great interest from the peers from other countries and universities, students and lecturers shared their impressions and noted the similar and unique features of the considered conflicts between the countries.

On October 23-24, a 2-day on-line training to increase their own productivity on the topic "Secrets of self-management" was held for residents and guests of the city. The training was organized by the Lifelong Learning Center.
The training was conducted as a solution to cases, discussions and interactives. Participants identified the most significant chronophages and proposed methods to combat them, estimated the cost of own time, got acquainted with the methods of time rationalization and features of the use of kairos, learned to form Smart-goals and set priorities, distinguish important cases from minor ones according to the Eisenhower matrix, learned to organize your day properly, work effectively with information achieve the goals and cope with stress.

19.10.21р. Roman Trepalin, Head of the Competitive Bidding Department of the Sumy City Council, was invited to our classes.
During the online lecture, bachelors of the 3rd year of full-time and part-time forms of education in the specialty "Public Administration" (talked to a specialist of Sumy City Council.
Roman Trepalin in an interesting way, on the examples of real cases, told students about the peculiarities of public procurement according to modern legislation, emphasized the procedures for monitoring the conduct of bidding.
Students had the opportunity to ask questions to our expert. There was a great discussion.
The Department of Management thanks Mr. Roman, as a representative of our leading employer (Sumy City Council), for the time and desire to work with Sumy State University.

We would like to remind our readers that this project was initiated by Professor Dipra Jha (Washington State University) and Professor Hanna Shvindina (Sumy State University), and since this year, the co-coordinator of COIL is Tetyana Mayboroda, Ph.D. This project involved several cohorts of students majoring in Management, International Economic Relations, and other economic fields, and more and more educators are joining the virtual exchange.
