On November 30, 2018 students and lecturers of the Oleg Balatskyi ARI FEM took part in the Regional Forum "Days of Sustainable Development in Sumy Oblast". The event was organized by Sumy State University in co-operation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine and Sumy National Agrarian University.
The Sustainable Development Goals and a review of the implementation process at the international and national levels were the main topics of the forum. Sumy State University teachers presented the Goal 4 "Quality Education". Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International Activities and Technical Support Volodymyr Lyubchak, Rector Assistant for the Implementation of Innovative Learning Technologies Irina Sklyar and Head of the Division for Internationalization of Educational Activities Nadiya Kostyuchenko were speakers from Sumy State University at the plenary session. Senior Lecturer of our Department Denys Smolennikov was the moderator of the section devoted to education for sustainable development.
The forum participants discussed issues related to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, the possibilities of cooperation between UNDP and Sumy in the framework of the project "Home owners associations for the implementation of sustainable energy-efficient solutions" (HOUSES), education for sustainable development of territories. The leaders of the united territorial communities of the Sumy region, scholars of the leading institutions of higher education in Sumy Oblast shared their practical experience.
