During three winter months, the associate professor of O.Balatslkyi Department of Management took part in the online course "Diplomacy: etiquette, protocol, business and intercultural communication" from the Expert Center Diplomacy: international relations, protocol etiquette with the support of the Ukrainian Foreign Policy Association. The course took place from December 3, 2022 to February 26, 2023 - a total of 60 academic hours. Speakers and experts were Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine (President of UAZP Volodymyr Khandogii, Vice-President of UAZP Oleksandr Kupchyshyn, Yuri Sergeev, Volodymyr Yelchenko), lecturers of Taras Shevchenko Institute of International Relations of KNU, as well as GDIP Media Center specialists.
During the training, the main concepts, methods, rules, tools, meanings, historical and modern knowledge and practical application were explained:
• diplomatic and state protocol;
• norms and rules of diplomatic seniority;
• diplomatic techniques;
• visits of foreign delegations;
• protocol norms for the use of state symbols;
• rules on the norms of modern business communication and business meeting etiquette;
• use of business and classic dress codes, image and style formation rules, as well as use of colors;
• rules of social etiquette, visits to solemn, cultural, public events and good manners;
• the protocol and etiquette of the feast;
• use of non-verbal communication in professional activities;
• components of a successful public speech and presentation;
• peculiarities of preparation and conduct of negotiations;
• intercultural features in diplomatic and business contacts;
• norms of digital etiquette;
• protocol requirements for business and diplomatic correspondence;
• practical tools of public diplomacy of Ukraine, including cultural (on the example of the activities of the State Enterprise of the State Enterprise of Ukraine);
• basics of media competence in the modern information world.
In addition, according to the course program, the following issues were considered:
• Ukraine in the modern geopolitical space: applied aspects.
• Current issues of UN activities.
• Organization of work of foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine.
• The role of diplomacy in the settlement of international conflicts: today's challenges.
Studying at such courses not only expands the professional cohort of the community of our lecturers, gives new knowledge and raises qualifications, but also helps to increase the level of business activity, promote educational diplomacy in the university, the country and beyond, as well as expands participation in new projects in future !
