The round table on the systemic impact of international projects on the development of universities and higher education in Ukraine

On October 12, 2024, Svitlana Kolosok, coordinator of the Jean Monnet international project “Smart energy cooperation in Europe: educational project for youth leaders” (101048079), took part in the round table “The Systemic Impact of International Projects on the Development of Universities and Higher Education in Ukraine: from TEMPUS to Erasmus+ and European University Alliances, organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine. The event was held as part of the #ErasmusDays 2023 celebration in Ukraine and marked the 75th anniversary of Sumy State University.

The round table brought together representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the European Union, academia, international project coordinators, experts, and stakeholders from across the country. The participants discussed how international educational initiatives influence the institutional development of universities, foster innovations in learning, promote international collaboration, and support the implementation of strategic higher education reforms.

During the event, participants engaged in a professional discussion on the role of Erasmus+ projects – particularly Jean Monnet initiatives – in strengthening European integration within Ukrainian education, enhancing research capacity, advancing academic mobility, and modernizing university governance. They shared successful practices, challenges in project implementation, and outlined future pathways for strengthening cooperation in the field of international education.
