On 16 December, O.Balatskyi Department of Management held an open guest lecture “Conflicts in a Team: Not an Enemy, but an Opportunity for Growth”, organised for students and staff of Sumy State University in a hybrid format that combined online participation with in-person engagement on campus.
The keynote speaker was Orest Dmytrasevych – PMP®, PMI UA Excellence Award 2024 winner, organisational consultant in project management and PMO development, leader of the Kaizen Hub UA Leadership Platform , and currently a serviceman and officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the lecture, he explored the nature of conflicts within teams, key causes of their emergence, and practical tools for managing conflict situations in project and organisational environments.
The hybrid format provided an excellent opportunity not only to involve a wide online audience but also to meet part of the student group offline. This created a vibrant space for live dialogue, exchange of ideas, and immediate feedback.
The event was moderated by Associate Professor of the Department – Tetyana Mayboroda, lecturer of the courses “Project Team Management” (Master’s programme “Project Management”) and “Conflict and Change Management in Organisations” (Bachelor’s programme “Management”).“I sincerely thank all students and colleagues who joined the lecture for their active participation in the Q&A session – it clearly demonstrated both the relevance and practical value of the topic. My deepest gratitude goes to Orest, who, despite his military service, finds time to share his experience with our students and inspire us by his example.”
The event was organised by O.Balatskyi Department of Management of the Institute of Business, Economics and Management of SumDU as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening practice-oriented learning for Bachelor’s and Master’s students majoring in Management .
