On 17th of June students of Sumy State University joined one of the meetings of the Civic Engagement Club (a social project of NGO “Lifelong Learning Center). At this meeting, our students shared their experience of being enrolled in “The Fair Skills Training” that took place in Chernihiv. This training was devoted to Human Rights Advocacy and during 4 days the participants had intensive sessions on different types of discrimination and processes of radicalization. The training program is a part of Project Together we Can!” managed by NGO “Young Media Association” (MMC) in cooperation with «Сultures Interactive», the Ukrainian Human Rights Foundation and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Federative Republic of Germany.

Tell us about your journey after SSU
I moved to Kyiv and got a job first as a bank loan expert, after that as a publicist for a magazine, and later on as a publicist for an airline, but eventually went into journalism anyway. Because I always dreamed of this profession. I interviewed Ukrainian “Territory A” stars for school radio and wrote articles for a student newspaper.
So, when I found myself in Kyiv, I almost immediately wrote letters to the editors of my favorite magazines at the time, Cosmopolitan and Maxim. Of course, I was not answered. Because healthy ambitions are good, but they need to be backed up by experiences I haven't had. I was not upset though.
Senior Lecturer, Department of Management, PhD in Public Administration Demikhov O.I. won 1st place in the contest SSU "ICT Innovations for Modern Education ICT4EDU" in the nomination "Mobile devices in the educational process". The competition committee praised the author's development - "Mobile Video Director".
The student of the specialty "Public Management and Administration" Inna Malionkina helped to prepare the application for the competition by creating an original video.

1. Tell us about your journey after SSU.
My way of becoming an active person with a clear civil position began at SSU. During my studies, I met people who are important to me, with whom I spend my whole life. We are a real team of change makers in the country! (Smiles)
And back in 2004, we have been changing our university, when we defended it with student protests and it was at that time that we learned to communicate with the state. At that time, we opposed the unification of universities and our university remained a separate legal entity, an important unit of science. This was my first experience in negotiations, diplomacy, communication with the state and finding consensus.
Management. leadership, organizations – all these terms had got a new sound in a new format this year. The student of 073 speciality “Management” performed the results of their diploma research on 22nd and 24th of June online.
The state committee faced with the real cases, quantitative research and surveys conducted by the graduates, start-ups and research projects of a new generation. Oxana Uvarova, the head of the state committee and practitioner emphasized the high level of results performance done by students in Management, their passion they were talking about their ideas and findings. Moreover, students are acknowledged with new trends such as social network marketing, targeting, strategies development and so on.
At the currnet times, when world borders are closed, SumDU expands its borders of international cooperation virtually. The successful implementation of the project of virtual academic mobility "Strategic Management and Leadership" by SumDU with Whitefield Business School (Mauritius) is one of such examples. To this project is devoted an article published in one of the most popular and widely read Mauritian newspapers Le Mauricien (by the way, this newspaper was founded and has been published since 1908.) The article is in French language (since Mauritius has two official languages - English and French) highlights the interview with Mr. Sabhir Ramnorut, Director of Academic and International Affairs of the Mauritian school, which descripes cooperation project with SumDU, information for which was prepared jointly with Mayboroda Tetyana, lecturer of the Department of Management.
By joint efforts we make the SumDU name known in more and more countries of the world and expand the horizons of cooperation, as for our university and team this is the first project with a higher education institution in Mauritius.
Today the final assessment of our bachelors took place. It consisted of a attestation qualification examination and the defense of bachelor's theses.
Students wrote the attestation qualification exam at the university with all safety rules. At the attestation qualification exam, students once again confirmed their knowledge and ability to put them into practice.
On June 22, bachelor's theses were defended. This time it was organized with the help of online technologies. A feature of this defense was the involvement of experts from public service. The defense was attended by the head of the Department of Communications and Information Support of Sumy City Council Mosha Andriy and chaired by the director of the state institution of postgraduate education "Sumy Center for retraining and advanced training of public authorities, local governments, state enterprises, institutions and organizations" Varukha Svitlana.

Our students are like in that movie: beauties, clever and athletes. This is Inna Malonkina, a third-year student of the Department of Management, majoring in Public Administration, received a scholarship named after M. Hrushevsky and a grant to receive a scholarship from the Republic of Latvia for international students, researchers, and teachers for one semester of the 2020/2021 academic year.
The training will take place at the BA School of Business and Finance (Riga, Latvia) under the Business Process Management program. The program is unique, with emphasis on leadership development and self-presentation skills, knowledge of the basics of digital transformation, change management. The program is taught by mentors and experts of the new generation.
Inna herself gave a short interview:
«Why did I choose this program?I had the opportunity to choose an educational program from any university in Latvia. At first, I was inclined to the closest to my specialty - the program "Sociology of Organizations and Public Administration." But having analyzed the disciplines in this course, I realized that the program is adapted to the Latvian features of life and the work of their authorities.
Thus, I drew attention to the program "Business Process Management" because of its focus on personal development and the close connection of disciplines that are needed today in the field of public administration. Namely, the following subjects were of interest: "Green Economics," "Digital Transformations - Applied Digital Skills and Technologies," "Corporate Finance," "Global Economy and International Trade."
