PhD students are successfully trained at the Oleg Balatskyi Department of Management.  On April 20, at the meeting of the department, the reports of PhD students of the second year of study on the passage of pedagogical practice in the professional field were considered.

During the period from March 22 to April 18  PhD students Piven D.A. (Supervisor Shvindina H.O.), Marin M.V. (Supervisor Opanasiuk Y.A.), Maksymenko I.O. (Supervisor Pavlenko O.O.), Luityi V.O. (Supervisor Dreval O.Yu.) got acquainted with different forms and methods of teaching of leading teachers of the department, demonstrated the acquired skills of preparation and conduct of practical, learned modern educational technologies and demonstrated the ability to use them in pedagogical practice.

On April 21, Semernya Maryna Yuriyivna, Head of the Kulykivka State Tax Inspectorate of the Main Department of the State Tax Service in Chernihiv region, attended a practical lesson on "Fundamentals of Public Finance Management"

Students learned about the activities of the state tax service and the peculiarities of local taxes.

The webinar was organized by Yulia Opanasyuk, Senior Lecturer of Oleg Balatskyі Department of Management as part of the course " Fundamentals of Public Finance Management " for 2nd year students specialty "Public Management and Administration" on the topic: " The tax system ".

April 20 for fourth-year students gr. SR-71 specialty 231. "Social work" in the study of the discipline "Strategic Management with a content module: Management of social work. Organization of systems of documentation of social work "(teacher - Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Onishchenko M.L.). A meeting was held with Dmitrenko Inna Mykolayivna, Deputy Director of Sumy City Youth Leisure Center of Sumy City Council. The lecture was devoted to the main directions of the strategic development of Sumy.

Students received meaningful answers to the question, namely:

1. The main strategic directions of social development of Sumy.

On April 20, 2021, Snizhana Mykolayivna Gavrilova visited the masters majoring in “Project Management” as part of the course study “Project execution” on the topic “Contract Management”. Ms. Snizhana has significant experience in organizing contractual relations, currently works as an economist at TURBOMASH LLC and TECHNOCHEM LLC. For Snizhana Mykolayivna, the online meeting was an opportunity to share her experience with students and talk about career opportunities for students of this educational program because she is a graduate of the department’s first issue majoring in "Project Management".

The speaker, from practical experience, spoke about the life cycle of the contract, the peculiarities of the organization, implementation and completion of contractual relations, as well as the importance of contract management for the successful implementation of the project. Students were interested in the necessary competencies and knowledge to work in contract management, the peculiarities of negotiating with domestic and foreign partners.

Series of trainings for pupils of grades 9-11 of secondary school № 5, Sumy took place from 15 to 19 of April. On the example of the specialty "Public Administration" pupils learned to choose a future profession and plan their time.

During the conversation, the participants understood the importance of understanding their identity when they choosing a future profession. Pupils also got acquainted with time management-tools.

The participants of the trainings grew the Tree of Profession and thanks to Eisenhower's methods they learned to set priorities.

Representatives associate professor Valenkevich Larysa and postgraduate student Balagurovska Inna from the Oleg Balatskyi Department of Management  helped them to acquire these skills.

For scientists, the academic rank is a confirmation of their professionalism and effective work. Today the department has a double holiday, because 7 teachers received the academic rank of associate professor.

The academic rank of associate professor was awarded to V.V. Martynets, Yu. A. Opanasіuk and K.V. Taranіuk according to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 157 "On decisions on the award of scientific degrees and the award of academic titles" dated 09.02.2021.

T.V. Bondar, A. V. Yevdokymova, Ia. V. Kobushko, Yu. A. Matvieieva awarded the academic rank of associate professor by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 420 "On decisions on the award of scientific degrees and the award of academic titles" dated 19.04.2021.

Congratulations to colleagues and we wish them further professional success, implementation of new ideas and creative inspiration!

The seminar with Dr. Judith Shapiro took place online on the 9th of April within the Global Virtual Professional Program “Excellence in Teaching & Research” that involved the best representatives from the academic world in the sphere of research and teaching. And on 9th of April  inspiring professor Shapiro shared her experience in teaching at London School of Economics. Dr. Shapiro is regular participant of many conferences and talks, training in teaching at higher educational institutions. She is co-authored three books in transitional economics in Eastern Europe has numerous academic papers and news articles. Dr. Shapiro took part in several public events as a speaker, most recent are Series 4 of the BBC's “Four thought” (2013), TEDx Talk (2018), as the chair of the London School of Economics' Economic Symposium in September 2019.

Professor Paul Chiambaretto ended the set of seminars withing the Program “Excellence in Teaching & Research” with his lecture. On the 14th of April, Professor Chiambaretto provided a talk on new approaches in strategic management, namely in the field of coopetition strategy. Coopetition strategy became well known since the seminal book by Brandenburger and Nalebuff published in 1996. Since then there are several schools that are focused on networks, alliances, ecosystems, and coopetition. One of those schools is R&D Lab in Montpellier united the efforts of the scholars from the University of Montpellier and Montpellier Business School. Professor Chiambaretto is one of the leading experts in the theory and practice of coopetition, and he shared his knowledge with the participants.

On the 15th of April, during the class on “Modern trends in Studies in Management” Oleksii Makaryuk, the director of LLC “Road Construction” (RGM Group) provided a guest seminar for Ph.D. students in Management Studies. During the class, Mr. Makaryuk shaped in one list the main insights and findings in Management that he made since he started his career as the lead manager at the industrial enterprise. His advice and lifehacks can be a bestseller one day, and now they are shared in a form of discussion with future doctors of philosophy. The empirical shreds of evidence from the practice are important for researchers to get an understanding of the links and casualties between phenomena in management, organizational behavior and to be on the edge of modern trends in science and practice.
