Head of the Oleg Balatsky Department of Management Participates in the Extended Meeting of the Public Council under the Sumy Regional Military Administration

On June 18, 2026, the Head of the Oleg Balatsky Department of Management at Sumy State University took part in an extended meeting of the Public Council under the Sumy Regional Military Administration, which brought together representatives of veterans’ communities from territorial communities across the region and representatives of Sumy State University.

During the meeting, participants discussed the prospects for cooperation between veterans’ communities and the Public Council, mechanisms for communication with public authorities regarding the implementation of veterans’ policy, and the involvement of veterans in the strategic development of territorial communities.

Particular attention was paid to establishing a systematic and continuous dialogue between veterans’ communities and the Public Council under the Sumy Regional Military Administration. As a result of the meeting, the participants agreed to further collect and process proposals submitted by veterans’ representatives and to organize a dedicated meeting of the Public Council focused on veterans’ policy.

The event also highlighted approaches to engaging veterans in discussions on the strategic development of territorial communities, identifying opportunities for economic growth, and strengthening cooperation with the academic community.

Professor Ihor Rekunenko informed the veterans’ community about educational opportunities at Sumy State University, particularly the academic programmes offered by the Oleg Balatsky Department of Management, as well as the Department’s cooperation with territorial communities in implementing international grant projects.

The Oleg Balatsky Department of Management continues to support initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation among public authorities, civil society, and the academic community in promoting veterans’ policy and sustainable community development.
