On October 24, 2019, Associate Professor of Department of Management Svitlana Kolosok visited on final day of Hack for Locals within the project «Innovative drivers of national economic security: structural modeling and forecasting». The hackathon was organized by United Nations Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme (UN RPP) and Garage48 for teams from all-around Ukraine. The best teams presented IT tools that topical for development of locals.

On 23rd and 24th The International Days took place at Sumy State University. Our students, postgraduate students and colleagues participated in the workshops, attended the lectures on academic mobility and projects applications. Lecturers and couches from Germany, Poland, Ireland, Nigeria, the representatives of British Council and Council of the United States provided the lectures, share their knowledge and the ideas for further cooperation. The honored guests were the Ambassador of Nigeria Mr. Martin Senkom Adamu, Yulia Shapovalova, the director of Ukrainian Government Center of International Education, and Svetlana Shytikova, the director of National Office Erasmus+. Our colleagues, Tetyana Mayboroda and Hanna Shvindina got the Acknowledgement Certificates for International Activity from rector.
Assistant Ihor Vakulenko took part in the 11th Central and Eastern European Sustainable Energy Forum, which took place on October 16, 2019 in Kiev. At the Annual Forum, Investors, Authorities and Business Representatives discussed problems and prospects for creating Europe's future green energy system, including "legal and financial issues in renewable energy and energy efficiency distributed energy generation, new technologies for the energy sector. " The forum was attended by about 80 speakers, including managers of leading international and domestic energy companies, representatives of central government and relevant government agencies, senior management of international investment funds.

Greetings! My name is Olha. I am a student of Sumy State University. I am currently studying at the University of Almeria (Spain) under the Erasmus+ academic mobility program. I always follow the rules "While you are a student, you have to try everything," so I'm probably here. I chose the Erasmus + program because it is quite popular at the University and many of my friends who were abroad recommended it. This year, 800 students from all over the world and continents came to the University of Almeria to study. This is a great chance to find new friends from all over the world and get 800 Instagram followers.
The program allows 5 months to live in another country, to study culture and language, to receive a scholarship, which is enough for accommodation, travel, delicious food. By the way, there are many international discounts for Erasmus+ students. At the university you can choose the disciplines you like, one lesson lasts 2 hours. The teaching is interesting and up-to-date, and in practice, we take on exciting tasks. I think it's a great experience for my future. What is required to pass the competition and the stage of admission to the university? Great desire, English and good grades are what you need. I am sure that studying abroad is worth it.
Assistant of the Management Department, PhD in public administration,Oleksii Demikhov participated in the seminar "Public Health Law" (06 Oct – 12 Oct 2019) under the direction of Scott Burris, JD, AB (USA) and Katarzyna Czabanowska, Dr. habil. (Netherlands). The event took place in Salzburg (Austria) under the patronage of Open Medical University AAF and Maastricht University.
Lectures and workshops were taught by Temple University, Maastricht University, Indiana University, Imperial College London, Chair Public Health Ethics Committee.
The seminar was attended by 32 participants from 22 countries in Europe and Asia. During the lectures, practical classes and workshops, participants learned best practices in the application of US and European law, the interaction of ethics, law and public policy, effective public-administrative decisions in the field of public health.
Participation in the event provided an opportunity to communicate with experts from Europe, America and Asia, as well as to find ways of further scientific cooperation.
On October 24, 2019, the training within second stage of Erasmus+ project “Expanding Opportunities for Youth Employment” was held. The participants of training were the students of group ПУ-71 (specialty “Public Management and Administration”) of the Department of Management of Oleg Balatskyi Academic and Research Institute of Finance, Economics and Management. The training was dedicated to the expanding opportunities and support of young people by coaching tools that can help to build their career by revealing their personal potential, strong sides (advantages, knowledge, skills) that can meet the requirements of modern labour market and employers as well.
Students had the opportunity to define long-term goals that can affect sustainable personal development and help them to become successful leaders or professionals after graduation. During training, the students explored what steps they need to take to achieve the goal, to look from different perspectives on the life experience, which they get while studying by chosen specialty.
The training was carried out by Maria Lytvynenko (ICF certified coach, manager of initiative group “Your personal resources”, public activist) and Olha Barabash (specialist of Academic Department for Practical Training and Network with Employers of SSU).
This Thursday, on 10th of October, Associate Professor of the department of management Mishenina Galina and the students f “Public Management and Administrating” had a meeting with an adviser of regional development Hryhorii Starykov. The discussion that took place in the Center for Local Self-Government Development (U-Lead). During the meeting the students asked questions and got the answers about the actions on the improvements of local government, got the impression about state policy of regional development. What is the decentralization and what are the perspectives exist for the local communities, and of course modern education, civic engagement – these and many more questions were in a focus of the discussion. The representatives of Oleg Balatskiy ARIFEM got valuable experience on regional development due o the efforts of the expert.
The presentation of students of Management education program took place within Global Virtual Class. The presentation was devoted to the hospitality in Ukraine and Sumy as a tourism destination. 7 countries and 10 universities participated in the project, and now there are more people acknowledged about Sumy. The presentation made a good impression for our colleagues from other countries.
The presentation became possible due to the initiative of Professor Dipra Jha (Nevraska University) and support of our colleagues, Shvindina Hanna, Vakulenko Ihor, Smolennikov Denis. These days, from 7th till 9th the Training on fundraising took place in Kyiv, based on the office of DVV International in Ukraine. The project managers and representatives from Learning Centers participated in this event. This training was aimed to provide the participants with the actual information on fundraising, strategy of cooperation with international grant agencies, donors identification tool-box and coordination with the local governments. The couch was Svitlana Kuts, a founder of the Institute of Professional Fundraising in Ukraine, member of the Board of Directors of the European Fundraising Association (2009-2015), Ukrainian Philanthropists Association, Ukrainian SOS Kinderdorf, Head of Organizing Committee of the National Philanthropy Award. Svitlana heads Ukrainian IFC since 2011.
Ph.D. student of the department of management Stanislav Kotenko took part in this training, as a representative of Sumy State University and project manager of NGO “Lifelong Learning Centre”.
