dipraOn the 1st of October, the Virtual Exchange at the University of Nebraska will start. This project is initiated by Professor Dipra Jha (University of Nebraska, USA) and supported at our side by the representative of ARI FEM, Shvindina Hanna (Sumy State University, Ukraine). In the class students for the United States, the Netherlands, Oman, UAE, UK, India and Ukraine. The “Hospitality, Restaurant and Tourism Management” will take place in English. The project is aimed to reinforce international cooperation between students, postgraduate students and educators, mutual networking without the boarders and transformational learning.

The schedule: every Tuesday and Thursday, from 15-00. Room Ideas Lab, N218a.

Starts on the 1st of October, the last session will be on the 14th of November.

Shvindina5Sumy Forum took place on 25th of the September when the award ceremony was provided for the authors of the projects of Oblast Competition among the Youth. There were a nomination “The Best Youth Project” and Shvindina Hanna go awarded as one of the winners and TOP-5 Bests. This was the project “I am young, I dream and I work” that was organized in 2017. The project was inspired by the ideas of project managers of NGO “CYS” (Council of Young Scientists) and was realized in the partnership with Sumy State University, City Employment Center, Sumy Leisure Center and Coalition of Small and Medium Business. The donor was the Department of Youth and Sport at Oblast Government Administration. The project became a reality due to the efforts of members of CYS: Hanna Shvindina, Tetyana Vasilyeva, Serhiy Leonov, Yuriy Petrushenko, Valeria Bilenko (“Project Management” Alumni).

Coopetition4Airlines1The first workshop on Coopetition for Airlines took place on the 17th of September. Dr Shvindina Hanna has presented her results on Coopetition Research (by Skype) at the kind invitation of Senior Lecturer in Aviation at RMIT University Dr Iryna Heiets who is an initiator of this event. This event is one of the parts within the Coopetition Lab Real Actions Project (CoLRAP), launched recently. The mission of the interdisciplinary team of Coopetition Lab is to bring a new understanding of the promises and perspectives of coopetition for different spheres of economic and social activities. Inspired by Coopetition Lab led by Dr Frederic Le Roy at the University of Montpellier, the researchers put their efforts into spreading coopetition ideas in the global academic community.

4-1In early September, the 21st Economic Forum - the largest in Central and Eastern Europe - was held in Krynica-Zdrój (Poland). As part of the collaboration between Sumy State University and the Institute for Eastern European Studies (Warsaw), which co-organized the Economic Forum, ten students from Sumy State University participated in the Forum as volunteers. Among them are three students of the Department of Management - Pavlenko Daria, Fedenko Tatiana and Wonders of Elizabeth. This year's Economic Forum has traditionally brought together over 4,500 participants - academics, NGOs, government and business from Europe, Asia, the United States and the Middle East.

Within three working days, the forum participants participated in more than 200 thematic meetings, attended panel discussions, lectures, workshops; strengthened their English skills and learned to work as a team. In particular, the forum discussed business and economy, energy, innovation development, European integration, international and social policy, security, investment, society and education, etc. In addition, students of SSU joined the organization of the Running Festival of the Economic Forum - an international sport event. Its purpose is to promote people who, through their dedication and work, become role models for others.

01On Thursday, September 12, Associate Professor of Management Department Denys Smolenikov participated in the first stakeholder meeting to develop an online course on sustainable development for public servants. Representatives of executive authorities, local governments, teachers from leading higher education institutions of Ukraine joined the event. A joint effort has been made to develop work programs for future online courses at three levels – national, regional and local.

The United Nations Development Program's Online Learning on Sustainable Development project aims to improve public officials' access to education on the Sustainable Development Goals, raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, and implement it at national, regional and local levels. The project is being implemented by UNDP with the financial support of the German Government through Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

IMG1168In the period from September 16 to September 20, 2019 Associate Professor of Department of Management Denys Smolennikov participated in the training program organized under the CUTIS project, the Canadian-Ukrainian Trade and Investment Support Project funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

The training program included issues on export management, gender and environmental considerations, sectoral market research, and more. In addition, participants learned new and useful skills in communicating with media and public speaking. As a result of the training program and the results of practical exercises, participants received certificates and a set of methodological materials for further use in the work.

1Sumy State University lecturer of Management Department Tetyana Mayboroda participated at Strategic Leadership Development, Peace and Conflict Resolution Workshop, which took place at Bingham University on 25th-27th of July.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof.W.B Qurix,OFR,while welcoming participants stated that Leadership and strategic development, peace and conflict resolution are the most important issues facing the world today.

The topic delivered to participants as an invited speaker by Mrs. Tetyana Mayboroda was devoted to change and transformational leadership as the leadership of new generation.

Such participation is a great contribution into mutual partnership relations Sumy State University has with Bingham University.

Fulbright2Two of our colleagues, Tetyana Pimonenko and Hanna Shvindina shared their experience to the audience who came to know, how to jump in the Program, what to do, where to go and what are the main lifehacks they may learn from a Fulbrighter. The speakers made this event remarkable by describing their challenges and victories, small stories and big events. The main idea that speaks for itself is “never stop dreaming” because maybe the Fulbright Program is for you to make your dream come true!

viber-image-2019-04-10--170651On 5 April, 2019 the Associate Professor of the Department of Management Halyna Mishenina and the students of the specialty “Public management” (I. Malionkina, O. Mayboroda, Ya. Romanchenko) took part in the Young Scientist Conference 2.0 “Economic future of Ukraine”. It was arranged by the Ukrainian Association of the Club of Rome. Prominent international and Ukrainian economists, scientists, manufacturers, entrepreneurs and People’s Deputies of Ukraine were speakers of the event. Many important issues were discussed during the conference, such as trends and challenges of 2019, the place of Ukraine on the world economic map, its economic strategy and the secrets of successful entrepreneurship. The excursion around the innovation park UNIT.City and educational IT-centre UNIT Factory became an endpoint of the day.
