1At the end of February Daryna Lysak, a second year student of speciality “Management”, began her parallel study at University of Ecology and Management in Warsaw under the Erasmus + KA1 Academic Mobility Program.

"Having first seen my university in Warsaw, I was very impressed with its interior. It is very cozy here, there is a place where students can prepare for classes on each floor. Also, there are reading rooms equipped with new computers at the university, and everyone can use all the equipment", − remarks Daryna.

In general, there are many foreign students at University of Ecology and Management in Warsaw and there is a good opportunity to find new friends. The educational process in Poland is very similar to the educational process in Ukraine, many teachers encourage students to prepare presentations.

"There are plenty of places in Warsaw where you can spend time exciting, a lot of museums, parks and green areas. In addition, the university arranges trips to other cities in Poland, it is very convenient for students. In general, this is an incredible experience that I want everyone to receive", − summed Daryna.

viber-image-2019-02-20--151209On February 16, 2019 the Associate Professor of the Department of Management Halyna Mishenina took part in the conference “Uni-biz bridge-2” - “The link between universities and business” in Kyiv. Uni-biz bridge for the second consecutive year helps employers and lecturers to provide students with the best knowledge and conditions for the professional growth.

The lecturers of the higher education institutions of Ukraine and the representatives of the companies, such as Raiffeisen Bank Aval, Coca-Cola HBC Ukraine & Moldova, , Mindy Teams, Mazars Ukraine, Genesis,  Japan Tobacco (JT Inc.), Deloitte were involved in the conference.

Speakers told students about the opportunities, ensured by the companies. The panel session “Vision of the employer; how to create a bridge of interaction with the higher education institutions of Ukraine” was held at the same time. Conversations about the ways of further cooperation with the representatives from each company were also conducted during the meeting.

20181205125836-minHanna Shvindina, associate professor of department of management of Sumy State University, took part in 2-days Workshop on “Effective Teaching”. Speakers, well known by their awards in teaching and research Dr. Rebecca Brent and Dr. Richard M. Felder, who shared their experience in a format of discussions, brainstormings, informational package and advices on Learning Objectives, Course planning and Active Learning Methods, and a lot more. The experience gain in this workshop may be transformed easily into courses on Excellent Teaching for formal and informal education. The educators, scholars, trainers and even students may be a target audience of this future course. These opportunities for Ukrainians to benefit from cooperation with HEI of USA are possible owing to Fulbright Program, international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government, administered by IEE. 

DSC0033On January 30, 2019 Pedro Patoilo, the graduate of the academic mobility program between the University of Porto (Portugal) and Sumy State University, visited the Department of Management. Pedro Patoilo is currently working as a consultant on technology and new markets for the Portuguese company Galp Energia.

The public lecture on “Academic Mobility – an Effective Way of Self-Development”, conducted by Pedro Patoylo, sparked special interest among the students of the specialties “Management”, “Public Management and Administration”. The lecturer paid particular attention to the ways of the selection of academic mobility programs, best practices in writing motivational letters, the peculiarities of studying abroad. Pedro Patoilo emphasized that academic mobility, the opportunities for studying at European universities are a guarantee of the high competitive advantages for university graduates on both Ukrainian and European labor markets.

IMG20181129110957-minOn 29 November 2018 the 2nd  (“Administrative Management”) and the 5th (“Management”) year students got acquainted with the production capacity of the LLC “Kerameya”. During the excursion they had the opportunity to see the production process of clinker products: bricks, tiles, blocks. Students learned the peculiarities of different types of products, their quality control and the geography of products supply.

4-minOn 21 December 2018 the lecturer of the Department of management Oleksii Demikhov involved the students of the specialty “Public health” in the seminar “The formation of a public health system – a way to the life prolongation and disease prevention”. The meeting was held at the Sumy Regional Clinical Hospital on the initiative of the Sumy Regional Center for Public Health. The experts shared useful information and experience in the development of the public health system in Ukraine. Physicians, pediatricians, general practitioners also joined the meeting.

The students got to know the history of the public health development, its regulatory and legal framework in Ukraine, strategic priorities and the main operative functions, implementation within the field of the Global AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria project, demographic situation and other kinds of information which is important for the effective performance of the professionals in this sphere.

SAM2311During November 2018 students of our institute participated in a competition devoted to the Sustainable Development Goals. The main task was to write a short essay on one of the topics: 1) "Development of technologies as a main component of future technological progress"; 2) "Global climate change: threats to humanity and possible ways to minimize problems"; 3) "Responsible consumption of resources for economic growth and sustainable development of society."

The most interesting topic for the students of our institute was the last one. And Eugenia Kripak (group PE-61), Malyonkina Inna (group PU-71) and Pavlenko Daria (group M-51) celebrated  the victory in this topic of the contest. Yulia Opanasiuk, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Management led the work of the students. All winners were invited to participate in the Regional Forum "Sustainable Development Days in Sumy Oblast" and there they received certificates and valuable gifts from the United Nations Development Program.

IMG20181214104305-minOn 14 December 2018 an excursion for students of the specialty “Public Health” was held at the regional communal establishment “Sumy Regional Centre for HIV/AIDS prevention” within the practice-oriented preparation. It was organized by the lecturer of the Department of management Oleksii Demikhov.

During the excursion students had the opportunity to communicate with the officials of the center, to get acquainted with its organizational and staff structure and its functional responsibilities. The students learned the peculiarities of the public health development in Ukraine on the example of the specialized institution in Sumy oblast mentioned above. Future professionals of the public health sphere acquired practical skills in their specialization.

IMG20181130134956On November 30, 2018 students and lecturers of the Oleg Balatskyi ARI FEM took part in the Regional Forum "Days of Sustainable Development in Sumy Oblast". The event was organized by Sumy State University in co-operation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine and Sumy National Agrarian University.

The Sustainable Development Goals and a review of the implementation process at the international and national levels were the main topics of the forum. Sumy State University teachers presented the Goal 4 "Quality Education". Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, International Activities and Technical Support Volodymyr Lyubchak, Rector Assistant for the Implementation of Innovative Learning Technologies Irina Sklyar and Head of the Division for Internationalization of Educational Activities Nadiya Kostyuchenko were speakers from Sumy State University at the plenary session. Senior Lecturer of our Department Denys Smolennikov was the moderator of the section devoted to education for sustainable development.
