On April 17, 2024, Dr. Angela Adamu, a guest lecturer of the Balatskyi Department of Management O., held an open lecture for students and faculty of Sumy State University on the topic: "Intercultural communications: the context and experience of West Africa. Nigeria as a case study for ways to develop mutual understanding and successful partnerships”. The lecture was organized and moderated by Tetyana Mayboroda, Associate Professor of the department, Deputy head of the International Affairs Department of Sumy State University, within the discipline "Development of Intercultural Competences and Intercultural Communications" (the discipline was developed and taught within the framework of the Jean Monet grant project "Educational Agenda for Intercultural City Development")

Associate Professor of the O.Balatskyi Department of Management, Deputy Head of International Affairs Department Tetyana Mayboroda joined the team of experts of the Ukrainian Startup Fund (UFS https://usf.com.ua/). The Supervisory Board of the UFS took decision on approving Dr. Tetyana as an expert in March 2024 so that she will be involved in the evaluation of startup projects applications for grants in the field of education and educational technologies aimed specifically at the development of education in Ukraine.

On February 16, 2024, students of groups M-31, PU-31 and M-21a had the opportunity to learn about the experience of a successful graduate of the "Management" specialty, Anna Stryzhak, who is currently the leader of the business group of the Ukrainian branch of the Mary Kay company. During the meeting, she shared strategies for team organization and motivation, as well as methods for analyzing change and the environment. First-year student of the Oleg Balatsky Department of Management, Salii Anastasiia Oleksandrivna (group M-32an/1u, specialty "Management"), participated in the Bootcamp training camp within the UPSHIFT program in Sumy region, which took place from February 21 to 24, 2024, in Sumy city.
As 2023 draws to a close, the team of Jean Monnet Project "Educational Agenda for Intercultural City Development" (ID No 101047729 ERASMUS-JMO-2021-HEI-TCH-RSCH), running from 2022 to 2025, reflects on a year of significant achievements and resilience. Despite the challenges posed by ongoing global uncertainties, the project successfully hosted two major events—Life Stories on Campus and Debates in Karl Popper Format—and delivered four tailored courses.
The processes of strategic planning and recovery are currently relevant, and especially for the communities of the Sumy region. On February 21-22, 2024, the head of the department Ihor Rekunenko took part in the "Strategic planning workshop for the development of territorial communities", thereby increasing the level of professional competences and skills in developing a strategy for the development of territorial communities, involving youth and other social groups in planning.
On January 18, 2024, students of schools No. 15 and No. 9 had a unique opportunity to master the "Secrets of Time Management" at an event held in cooperation with the Oleh Balatsky Department of Management.
At this event, participants not only learned about the importance of time management, but also gained practical skills. During the training, they learned how to effectively identify chronophages or time killers and learned effective methods of combating them.
Supporting the sustainable traditions of implementing COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) modules in teaching, on February 15 Associate Professor Tetyana Mayboroda delivered a presentation in the Virtual Global Class "International Relations and Global Leadership" with Professor Dipra Jha of Washington State University. The topic of the presentation was "The russian-Ukrainian case: storytelling, impact on global relations and conflict management".
Tetyana Mayboroda, Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation of Sumy State University, is among the participants in the project " Management of Internationalisation and German-Ukrainian Academic Cooperation" (MoI) developed by Leibniz University Hannover with the support of the DAAD Programme for 2024: "Supporting for the Internationalisation of Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions – Continuing Education Programmes for Administrators at Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions in Education and Academic Management" to meet the needs of German-Ukrainian academic cooperation.
